This is a proof-of-concept for a Home Automation system designed on the principles of Internet of Things. The demonstrated technology allows us to control all our home appliances using our smartphone. Moreover, it effectively converts our standard TV to a smart TV, adding features like web search and YouTube to a standard TV.
The smart-phone talks to the main microprocessor (Raspberry-pi) through bluetooth or Wifi. The Raspberry-pi is in turn connected to the various appliances through an IR module.
